A little about me.
I'm Jack Cronin and I write a lot.
I write ads, comedy sketches, television pilots, album reviews, and outlines for features.
I write down notes, to-do lists, dreams, character traits, punchlines, unfinished arguments, shower thoughts and locations for photo ops.
I write quickly, in bursts, with a lot of snap to my keystrokes.
I write on my laptop, my phone, a small black moleskin and a large red composite notebook (but that one's mostly for drawing).
I write about hidden crime syndicates, art communes, post-grad burnouts and Russian trolls that fall in love their own online profile.
I write to the audience, I write for 30 second spots and for 120 page scripts, I write to be comprehended, not to be confused.
I write like it's my job.
About the project.
The work you see presented on this website is a series of ad campaigns that I created, (largely) on my own.
By analyzing the works of portfolio school students and working copywriters, I figured out how portfolios are created and presented.
I decided on brands that would best fit my writing voice and spent hours researching them all.
The rest is all me, my ideas, my writing, my design, my execution, my mistakes, my accuracy, my inaccuracy.
It took ~9 weeks to create these campaigns, start to finish. No client brief, no client, no teacher, no official deadlines, nothing but the Notes App, Photoshop and a lot of coffee.
